Runtime Error 10

Post by geecee »

I have programmes on a CD and all run fine from there but when I 'Send to' either the inbuilt hard drive 'C' or the portable hard drive 'K' and run them, a few return a 'Runtime Error 10'. I know there are lots of suggestions on the internet but I would appreciate some first-hand information, if it's available, on a fix :hairout: from anyone who has experienced the problem.

Thanks.
George

Do you mean (1) that the "Send to" action causes a runtime error, or (2) that you get the error when you try to run an application that you have copied from CD to hard disk?
Best wishes,
Hans

Many applications consist of multiple files, of which the .exe file that you run is only one. If you merely copy the .exe file to another location, it won't work.

Since the applications run directly from the CD, they probably don't require an installation procedure, but you'll still need to copy the entire folder containing the .exe file to your C: or K: drive, to make sure that the other components of the application are copied too.
Best wishes,
Hans
