Defraggler 2.0 beta available

Post by HansV »

Piriform has released the first public test version of version 2.0 of its free defragmentation utility Defraggler.
Among the new features is defragmentation during startup (i.e. before Windows has started fully, so that files that can be defragmented that normally can't because they are in use).
Piriform wrote:This is a Beta version, so we don't recommend it for general usage just yet. We're confident it's bug free, but please only use it on test systems until we release the final build. Don't worry this will be in weeks, not months. :)
See Piriform - Defraggler v2.0 Beta.
Best wishes,
Hans

The first time I ran it it crashed just after it put up the (pastel-coloured) Drive Map. Admittedly that was on a drive with only 4% free space. But since then it defragmented the drive successfully, overnight.
