Snagit to Video Converter(of lesser size)

Post by MSingh »

Hi,

Are there any free software that can convert a Snagit audiovisual .avi file into an audiovisual of lesser size (apart from compressing the .avi file). The Snagit .avi provides screen capture demo to assist the user.
The free converter software should be able to play in the users default player (if possible).

Thanks
Mohamed

Do you mean a smaller image size (width and height) or a smaller file size?
Best wishes,
Hans

Microsoft has a free video editing tool that can compress video: Movie Maker.
Windows Movie Maker is included in Windows versions up to and including Windows Vista.
It has now been succeeded by Windows Live Movie Maker, part of Windows Live Essentials (see Windows Live Movie Maker).

There are also many third-party video compression tools.
Best wishes,
Hans

I don't know much about video but in the past I've used Bink to create very small video files.

Regarding the request that:

I can't remember how I played back Bink videos but I don't think it was via WMP.

The Bink video format (.bik) requires the Bink player (included in the RAD Video Tools); I've never seen support for it in other media players.
Best wishes,
Hans
