What software do you folks use for editing video?
My needs don't stretch to producing movies, but I do want to be able to clip commercials out of TV shows I've recorded and to inter-cut some old VHS tapes.
I've got a Hauppauge HVR-1950 and their WinTV software that allows me to capture video files from analog and digital sources. What I need now is software that will let me edit the video that I've captured.
Yesterday, I spent several hours trying to learn how to use Video Pad Editor from NCH. It is freeware and seems to have the features I need, but I've had some trouble using it. The documentation doesn't cover onscreen navigation very well and leaves much to be desired on other issues.
If you know of other video editing software - preferably freeware or an inexpensive package - I'd appreciate your suggestions and comments.
