Avira report
Just done a scan with Avira which reported no gremlins but I note that it states there are two "Hidden files". I assume it is a long shot but if one or both of these are imposters could they perhaps be worth locating to ascertaining what they are? if so, how would I go about exposing them please? Regards Dave

Re: Avira report
I would hazard a guess that if they were 'found', they weren't 'hidden' to the scan...

Re: Avira report
In addition to Leif's reply, I'd trust Avira's report - if the hidden objects had been a danger, they would have been removed or placed in quarantine. Since they weren't, they're almost certainly not malicious.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Avira report
I use Avira on my XP (SP3) PC at home but it's never found anything on any scan I've ever run but a quick Google for 'Avira hidden objects found' turned up this old (from 2008) thread on the Avira forums:
http://forum.avira.de/wbb//?page=Thread&postID=749353
The message there is if you are concerned you can post your scan log there and get feeback. Whether that's still true in Dec 2010 I don't know.
