Audiograbber

Post by silverback »

Windows Defended has reported that I have a potentially unwanted app running. It lists it as
C:\Users\user\Downloads\audiograbber183-2020 (1).exe
I have tried to remove this using Defender and tried to quarantine it but it seems still to be there.
I can't see any process running that looks like audiograbber.
Any tips on how to remove this, please?

Have you looked in the Downloads folder and tried to delete the file manually?
Best wishes,

Yes - but there's nothing listed that looks like audiograbber

Then I wouldn't worry about it - it's most probably a false positive (there are some reports about it in other forums).
Best wishes,
Hans

Did you make hidden files visible? Did you also make system files visible? As shown in the attached screen shot. It could be that the file really is in you downloads folder, you just can't see it with Windows default view.

Don't forget to turn off those to settings when you're done.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks, everyone. I have switched on the options as suggested by Stuck and searched 'ThisPC' for audiograbber*.* which returned no hits.
So, I am going to adopt Hans' position that it is a false positive.
Thanks, all
