ThunderBird 8 released today ( along with FireFox 8 ) of course.

I'm sure cnet.com are offering the real thing but I can imagine there will be lots of other sites offering something a bit less wholesome than a geniuine copy of TB8. I'd stick to the official site:

You are quite right, Ken. Direct from the source is always better, however, at the time I posted that announcement, Mozilla didn't have it on their own site as yet, They still showed v.7.01 as the latest. ( now changed )
