Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!
Google by default uses a single account for all its products (Gmail, Picasa Web, Google+, YouTube, Google Documents, ...)
But you can easily create a second Gmail account, then use that exclusively for YouTube, for example, while keeping on using the original account for e-mail.
