Thunderbird 3.x

Post by Bigaldoc »

Way back in the "other place," when Thunderbird 3 first came out, I had "complaints" about three things that could be fixed by hacking but I didn't want to have to keep doing it, so I went back to TB 2.x where I still am today.

The one (of the three) that I'm asking about here is the number of messages in each folder that is shown in the left pane. Does the current version of TB 3.x allow the showing of that column without hacking?

PS The Slideshow Addon HAS been updated so that's no longer a problem, and Smiley Pad isn't used by more than one or two of us, so I'll stand pat on that one.

Hi Al,

If you install this extra folder columns extension, you get a column picker in the folder tree that lets you add totals (scary how many I've got in my inbox - I really need to tidy it out...)

Thanks John. I found that version just about an hour ago and have it downloaded. So, I guess that makes it clear that version 3.x has NOT put back that feature which IS included in version 2.x

Funny thing is, I have no problems with version 2.x and so my only reason for being interested in 3.x is the usual "keeping up" with the latest.

It's an unfortunate fact of life, Al, but I do believe that feature is gone for good (at least in version 3). Maybe someone will see the light for version 4 ...?

Any joy with that extension?

Paul

Al,
I'm using version 3.14 and I use the extra columns extension without problems.
