I like the new side panel on the right. One has quick access to the calendar and Google Keep notes!! GREAT!!!

Thanks, I probably wouldn't have noticed (I rarely click on the Settings button).
For those looking for Contacts (which used to be available from the Gmail dropdown on the left): click the Google Apps button (the nine dots near the top right corner), then if necessary click More or scroll down.
