The developers of Pale Moon have done a similar job with Thunderbird, offering FossaMail. I've been using it for a day now, and it does have some minor improvements over Thunderbird, including a 64bit version. Migrating from Thunderbird was simple, although there is no migration tool (as there is for Pale Moon).

Re: FossaMail
Since 'fossa' means 'ditch' in Latin, I wonder whether there are any implications?
Or is it just an initialism for Free Open Source Software (An example)?

Fossa is also a cat-like mammal from Madagascar. The FossaMail logo looks like this animal...

Re: FossaMail
@John Gray: You were right! The developer has noted on the Fossa forum that "I chose that as a representation/mascot because of the similarity with F.O.S.S. "

That critter looks like a cross between a squirrel and a cat.
