Mac email reorganized itself

A client had her mac e-mail reorganize itself by other than date received. How does she fix it?

She uses mac osx version 10.5.6

As far as I know, one can click on a column header in the message list to sort on that column.

Or select View | Sort By | Date Received from the menu bar.
