gMail - removing contacts

Post by ChrisGreaves »

(correct forum?)
Please:
I am trying to remove a contact from my gMail screen.

I've used "Compose" and typed the letter "c", bringing up SIX contacts that start with the letter "c".
The SECOND contact ought not to be used by me anymore; indeed, sending an email to myself at the old client could be downright embarrassing!
I thought that a right-click menu would provide an option, but apparently not so.

I am open to suggestions (except from the usual friendly yet abusive crowd  )

Hi Chris,

See the image for steps...
You need to switch to your contacts in GMail, find the contact enrty and delete it.
Then REFRESH Gmail (or close and reopen)
The next time you type the starting letters...the contact is not listed.

Tnaks Rudi. Got it! (Or rather, Now NOT got it!).
I was puzzled on two counts: (1) I anticipated that dear old right-click would lead me by the hand and (2) I've never taken the time to explore gMail's menu structure; the structure is so different from the regular Windows bar-across-the-top.
Thanks again.

(later) Who are these people, and what were they doing in my contacts list? :hairout:

I use GMAIL quite a lot, so I am fairly used to the UI setup. My wife though frequently gets lost in the layout when she intermittently uses it. Many persons get frustrated with the attempt to forward a message since the option is nested into each individual message and hidden in a inconspicuous dropdown combo box...

When I open an e-mail in Gmail, I get this box at the bottom of the thread:

Heck...that's the first time I have ever seen that! LOL...
Obviously my emails (and threads) are a lot longer than yours as it's been off screen that I have never seen it. And why is it light gray and so small...

Yahoo has a better idea of what an action bar (at the top of the screen) should look like...as Chris suggested.
