Scanning attachments

Post by Dave Davison »

When I get an email with an attachment from some unknown person I immediately delete it but when I get one from someone I know I still like to scan it before opening it but to do so I have to drag it (the attachment) to the desktop before [when right clicking it] I get the option to scan it with Avira. If I right click it whilst it is still in the email the option to scan is not presented. Is dragging to the desktop the only way to scan an attachment? Thanks Dave.

Avira Free does not have the option to scan e-mails for viruses (the paid version Avira Premium does have that), so saving attachments to disk and scanning the saved version is the only option.
Best wishes,
Hans
