Sorting contacts by more than one field

Post by silverback »

Since last producing Christmas labels, I've had a new PC and Office 365. This is causing me problems.
I want to produce my Christmas labels. I have put all the recipients into a Christmas category. Now I can group by Category and get all the people who I am going to produce a label for. What I haven't managed to do is sort the set within category.

If I sort all contacts on Last Name and then click on the Categories header, Outlook groups the names OK but they are not in alphabetical order of Last Name.
If I group the contacts by category, and then click on the Last Name column header, Outlook sorts all the names on Last Name but the categories are then scattered through all the contacts. This happens even if I select all the Christmas contacts before sorting on Last Name column header.
Is there a way to group all the Christmas contacts in alphabetical order of Last Name, please?
Thanks

Click on Category, then hold down Shift and click on Last Name.
