Cause fonts in reading pane to appear larger

Post by jmt356 »

The fonts in my Outlook reading pane appear small. When I reply to a message, they seem to appear larger. Also, when I compose a message the font is fine as it is set at the 10-point setting I have configured in Options. Is there a way to cause the size of the fonts in my reading panes to automatically appear larger? Also, do I have a way of causing the font to appear in a different font (e.g., Arial) rather than the font that the sender sent them in (e.g., Calibri)?
Regards,

JMT

Does any info in this article assist to resolve your issue?
Typically its a zoom issue that can be adjusted in Outlook as the article alludes to.

AFAIK, I doubt you can change the font in a received message to appear in a different font.

If your absence does not affect them, your presence didn't matter.

If you wish, you can read all incoming mail in plain text:

- Select File > Options.
- Select Trust Center, then click Trust Center Settings...
- Select Email Security.
- Under Read as Plain Text, select the check box 'Read all standard mail in plain text'.
- To include messages signed with a digital signature, select the check box 'Read all digitally signed mail in plain text'.
- Click OK.

Outlook will use the font that you specified for composing and reading plain text messages.
Best wishes,
Hans

I am using Outlook Professional Plus 2010 and do not see an option for Trust Center in Options.

Can you post a screenshot of the File > Options dialog?

Trust Center is the last (bottommost) option in the navigation pane on the left hand side of the Outlook Options dialog in your screenshot...

Thank you. I'm not sure how I missed it.

I followed your suggest steps but am still getting fonts in messages I receive in Calibri and in small fonts.

I found that what changes the display of the fonts in emails I receive is in the Fonts dialogue in File | Options | Mail | Stationary and Fonts ... | Composing and reading plain text messages.

I ran a test and it appears I need to both set the text of emails in Composing and reading plain text messages and following the steps you outlined above. Only when I do both is there any effect on the display of fonts in my received messages.
