Hi
Before upgrading to Outlook 2013 I was able to import events from an Access database using the import wizard from the old calendar ( Outlook 2007 ).
This feature doesn't seem to be present any more or there is a different process. Does anyone know how to replicate how the old import used to work in 2013.
Kind Regards

Re: Import Access 2013 events to Outlook Calendar
Hi,
In Outlook 2013 one only has the option to import a pst file of a csv file. So you will need to open your Access database and export the table containing your events data to a csv file format.
Once exported as a csv file you can then go back to Outlook and
From the File Tab choose Open and Export, then Import/Export
From the resulting dialog choose Import from another program or file.
Click Next and select Comma Separated Values,
Click Next and browse for the file you exported from Access
Click Next and select Calendar
Continue through the wizard till Finish.
Note: AFAIK, importing into a calendar needs specific Field Names in your source data.
You need at least "Subject," "Start Date" and "Location" as heading so the wizard knows where to import the data onto your calendar...

Hi Rudi
I see it is doable but not so automated as before.
I have a virtual xp setup on my Windows 7 so probably better to import from that.
Thanks for looking into this.

Re: Import Access 2013 events to Outlook Calendar
Whether it was a dumbed down modification or a specific reason behind the removal of those additional import options....
In any event, it does make it more of an effort to import Access or Excel data with that extra process to get it as csv.

Re: Import Access 2013 events to Outlook Calendar
Microsoft never bothered to update the import mechanism to support the new .accdb database format, it only worked for .mdb. I suspect they won't put any effort in desktop Access-related features any more.
Best wishes,
Hans
