Hi we are trying to allow colleagues to see each other's calenders.
For the most part, this is fine.
But where there are any restrictions i.e. only display free/busy, the calender opens blank and we get an error message saying insufficient permissions.
Typically, the calender to share is Outlook 2013 and the 'other' user has Outlook 2007.
Any ideas what we need to do to resolve this?

Re: Viewing other's calender
Are you all on Exchange server? If so, the calendars are stored centrally in Exchange, not locally in Outlook. Users can give everyone read access to their calendar by setting the Permission Level for Default to Reviewer:
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Best wishes,

Re: Viewing other's calender
We are on exchange server and full access is OK.
It's when we want to restrict to purely VIEWING the calender contents but not allow opening of any of the appointments that we are having difficulties.
We have tried selecting (in the 'Read' section) 'Free/Busy time', but that does not show any appointments and we get the error message.

Yes.
The only difference from your screen shot, is (in the read section) we have selected the second 'radio button' down.

Re: Viewing other's calender
According to Calendar permissions differences in Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, the Free/Busy option is not available in Outlook 2007; one has to grant at least Reviewer permission.
Without Reviewer permission, it is still possible to view free/busy times by starting a new Meeting Request, and viewing the Scheduling Assistant.

Hmm.
That isn't as helpful as I hoped: we are using 2010 and 2013.

Re: Viewing other's calender
Sorry about that - the "Free/Busy" option was added in Outlook 2010, so there is no support for it in Outlook 2007...
Best wishes,
