Contacts from Express to 2010

Post by DaveA »

Client has a old XP machine, bought a new Windows 7 machine.
Everything was moved over as needed EXCEPT the email addresses from Express to 2010, do not function as needed. The contacts are there, when one clicks on Contacts, but when within a email, and try accessing them from the "To, CC or Bcc" error message no contacts (address book) found.

We installed 2010 on the XP machine, and at that time all of the Express emails and contacts were included on the setup of the account. Everything works just fine. Then when we moved the PST file to the new machine the contacts are not accessible from within an email.

I have copied the past to the new machine and directed 2010 to it, I have imported the old PST into a new PST, I still get this same problem.

We still have access to the XP machine and all of its email and contacts.

Activate Contacts in Outlook.
In the navigation pane, right-click the folder that contains the imported contacts.
Select Properties from the context menu.
Activate the Outlook Address Book tab.
Is the "Show this folder as an e-mail address book" check box enabled? If so, tick this check box, then click OK.
Best wishes,
Hans
