Received Column Format

Post by Rudi »

Hi,

Is there a way to manipulate the Received column date/time format to a custom format that is not available in the Format Columns list? (see image).
I would like to shorten the format to: ddd, dd-m hh:mm (and preferably the format 21:30 instead of 9:30PM).

I do not want to modify my regional settings as this will affect Excel (and other apps) date/time formats.

Any ideas?

If you scroll up in the list of formats, you should see the one you want:

(The format is in Dutch, but hopefully you'll get the idea).

There is no way to specify a custom format, as far as I know.

Yours is exactly how I do want it, but my "close" option is not quite the same:

I would have liked it in: ddd dd-m hh:mm (without the AM/PM)
Is your PC's regional settings in the international time format (without the AM/PM)?
Also, my month is showing before the day?

What is your current regional settings for date and time.

The list of available formats does indeed depend on your regional settings, and changing your regional settings (which you don't want) is the only way to change the list of available formats in Outlook.

My settings are shown below:

I actually managed to get the best of both worlds
The format I chose from the Received Column seems to use the long time format. So I could remove the AM/PM suffix without it affecting other apps and the time on my Windows Task Bar. I did change the date format from yyyy-mm-dd to dd-mm-yyyy. This was a minor modification. I don't mind the swop of year and day in the other apps.
