What is needed is a FireFox add-in that, when I choose File, saveAs from the Firefox menu, will not only save the web page, but will somehow, miraculously, save the original URL so that I can use the original URL in my notes/article/essay the next day when I am no longer connected.
Let’s put an end to this “file:///P:/How To Fix Write Protection Errors On a USB Stick.htm” nonsense

Why don't you print the pages(s) to a PDF printer, rather than 'saving' as a web page?
Much smaller file, and typically includes the URL in the header....

Ooooh!Leif wrote:Why don't you print the pages(s) to a PDF printer, ...
The only downside is that I find it a tad more difficult to get the content into, say, MSWord if I want to analyse it.
Nonetheless I'll give it a try.
I'll FilesaveAs to disk AND print to PDF and see what method works best.
MUCH OBLIGED!

(later) well, one reason is that the PDF file (PrimoDF printer) doesn't always pack the complete URL into that header!Leif wrote:Why don't you print the pages(s) to a PDF printer,...
That said, it has worked well for shorter URLs; that is, I've been pleased to obtain the url and the page data in one operation.
