PDFS open in full Adobe
This chap has specified in FireFox options for Adobe Acrobat to be his default PDF viewer, but it opens "in browser". How can he set it to open in the full version of Acrobat please?

Don't select the "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)" option.
Instead, select "Use Adobe Acrobat".
If this option is not listed, click "Use other...".
Select Adobe Acrobat:
Then click OK.
"Use Adobe Acrobat" should now be the selected option:

Hello both and thanks.
Unfortunately, it still opens within the browser. We switched to Adobe Acrobat, rather than reader, and I disabled the Adobe Add-In. Any other thoughts?

Are you sure the correct option was selected? I didn't have to disable the Adobe add-in...
The setting in Options > Applications:
The result when clicking a link to a PDF file:

This is the response from the gentleman:
"I got it so it doesn't automatically open, but now it asks me what program I want to open it in. I can browse and select adobe, but despite ticking ‘do this every time’, I have to do it every time I open a pdf – tiresome."
Am I missing something obvious?

Re: PDFS open in full Adobe
Strange - it works OK for me on Windows 7. (I've found Windows 8.1 to be rather finicky about setting default associations, but haven't had problems in Windows 7)
Are you sure that he hasn't selected the "Always ask" option?

I've asked him to ensure about "Always ask".
Strange. Maybe he needs to uninstall, or reinstall stuff. I also suggested he might prefer Google Chrome ;)
