Requires refresh
Frequently, when clicking a URL found from a Google search, FF 28.0 requires a refresh before anything loads. And sometimes it loads an ad instead of the desired site, which does come up when I do a refresh.
My Extension list is lengthy, but includes Adblock Plus 2.5.1, Adblock Plus Popup Addon 0.9.1, and Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus 1.2.3.
Yes, I could remove one or combinations of extensions to see if that could make a difference, but in my case that would take exactly 85.12032471 years (at 10 seconds per combination trial).
Any other suggestions?

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? (Firefox button > Options > Options, Advanced tab > Network tab > Clear Now)
Best wishes,
Hans

Cleared cache, here's an example of what shows, when I Googled a firm then clicked the link:

Re: Requires refresh
Same result in Chrome, with different characters after the &ai. Chrome then hangs or waits a loooong time.
If I click Chrome's Back button, I return to my search page, where if I click the firm's link again, I go right to it.

Re: Requires refresh
Do you have NoScript installed? It's not an ad blocker but it keeps lots of this kind of thing out.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: NoScript
Installed NoScript, found that it blocked too many worthwhile sites/scripts.
Now trying Firefox>Options>Advanced>General>Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page.
The Mozilla support forum says "When this option is enabled, Firefox will prevent websites from redirecting you to another page, or automatically reloading." So it doesn't "warn," it prevents. Sounds like what I need.

Bob, you really need to leave the Cape more often. There really is a LOT of geography beyond Boston and NYC.viking33 wrote:Might be those creatures messing around?

Just kidding... couldn't resist...once more!
Area 51 is near Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roswell is in Southeastern New Mexico.

There are other places? Do tell! I traveled over enough of those other places, in my younger days.BobH wrote:Bob, you really need to leave the Cape more often. There really is a LOT of geography beyond Boston and NYC.viking33 wrote:Might be those creatures messing around?

So Roswell is where the UFO crashed and Area 51 is where they took the alien pilot for autopsy. Both places are alien country, so they say. Anyway, they are close enough in general terms. IMHO.

And that is just Roswell to Las Vegas. Area 51 is somewhere between LV and the green square at the upper left.viking33 wrote:There are other places? Do tell! They are farther apart than P'town and Bean Town.

You're correct, as usual, Bob! That there map only covers about 800 miles. It's a lot further than that from Orange to El Paso or from Corpus Christi to Dalhart.
