I just updated Flash to the latest version. I then noticed that when visiting some sites, a new icon showed up in the address bar. It indicates that Flash is enabled on the site and gives me the option to block the plugin or continue to allow it.
Is this a result of installing the plugin, or (more likely) something new in Firefox 24.0 that I did not notice before?

Re: New (?) icon in address bar
It's a new feature of Firefox. The "Lego" icon will be red if there are vulnerable or outdated plugins active on the page, blue if there are disabled plugins on the page (you can enable them by clicking on the icon), and grey when plugins are activated (or the web page itself offers the ability to allow/block a plugin).
Best wishes,
Hans

Is this an option setting?HansV wrote:It's a new feature of Firefox. I've got ver. 24 and don't see that icon at all.

Re: New (?) icon in address bar
I'm with Viking Bob. Fx 24.0 and no icon. I checked add-ons and don't have a flash add-on. I don't do a lot of video watching; so I always figured I didn't need flash. Am I missing something?

Re: New (?) icon in address bar
I'm not sure that the icon appeared before I updated Flash, but I couldn't swear to it. Then again, I don't know if Flash has anything to do with it at all.

Paul

I haven't tried any of them yet so let us know if they work.

Re: New (?) icon in address bar
Apparently you have to create your own CSS (cascading style sheets) to hide the "lego brick" icon.
Best wishes,

Yes but I don't see the icon to begin with, so can't hide it?HansV wrote:Apparently you have to create your own CSS (cascading style sheets) to hide the "lego brick" icon.
Curious as to why it's there for some but not all to see?

Can't explain it then. Perhaps a Firefox expert can shed some light on it.
Best wishes,
Hans
