Firefox used to change the color of links in Goggle search result list that I visited, but not anymore.
How do I get this functionality back?
Firefox 23.0.1. Remember History is selected, not using a Private window.

Re: Change color of visited links
Are the colors for links still set correctly in Options > Content > Colors...?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Change color of visited links
Strange. Try toggling some settings on and off, for example switch on Private Browsing, then switch back to Remember History. And/or clear the check box 'Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above' (in the Colors dialog), then tick it again. Perhaps that sets things right...
Best wishes,
Hans

For a drastic measure:
Start Firefox in Safe Mode by Holding down SHIFT key while starting Firefox
Or alternative
enter one of the following in the Windows Run box:
-- firefox -safe-mode
-- "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
Firefox Safe Mode window will appear
-- Select Reset All User Preferences to Firefox Defaults and click Make Changes and Restart

Re: Change color of visited links
Thanks guys. I tried part of Hans' suggestion - un-checked 'Allow pages to choose their own colors', and what do you know, links now show in a different color when clicked. exactly as they should.
Doesn't seem to be the most intuitive of settings, but it works!
Thanks again,

Some websites may look weird with this option unchecked though...

Re: Change color of visited links
You're not wrong Hans. The cure was worse than the complaint. Web sites looked terrible.
I tried Rudi's re-set idea and it worked. Thanks Rudi.
but now I have to re set up FFox. I tried to set up Synch, but that is absolutely impossible in FireFox. I will start a new topic to see if someone at the Lounge knows a way around FFox's catch 22.
