Hello all,
I have a question about a problem we are having opening a protected Excel workbook (stored on company Intranet). The person that actually maintains the workbook has IE 8 64-bit Editiion.
She tested the form by going to our internal website and clicked the link for the form. It gave her an error message saying the workbook could not be opened bacause it contains a feature that is not supported by Excel in the browser -Sheet Protection.
Regular IE 8 (Not 64-bit Edition) browsers open it just fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks,
Chuck

Re: 64-bit Edition and protected Excel workbooks
Why doesn't she use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer? Microsoft installs both versions if you have 64-bit Windows, but the 64-bit version has no discernible advantages and the 32-bit version is the default anyway.
Best wishes,
Hans

Thanks for the response Hans
I have asked out IS dept that very question. I also asked how many other staff were set up the same way.
No response yet....
