Switching from Internet Explorer 7 to Internet Explorer 8
I was thinking of switching from Internet Explorer 7 to Internet Explorer 8 but was wondering is 8 any better than 7 and if so what about my favorites list, will it transfer over to the new version.

'Better' is quite subjective! I can't answer myself as I mainly use IE7, but for security and performance I would recommend you upgrade.ABabeNChrist wrote:I was thinking of switching from Internet Explorer 7 to Internet Explorer 8 but was wondering is 8 any better than 7 and if so what about my favorites list, will it transfer over to the new version.
I can think of no reason why your favourites/bookmarks shouldn't transfer over. I can't remember if you are asked if you want to import them or not - just make sure you read each window during the upgrade carefully.
Otherwise: Windows Internet Explorer 8: Get the facts

Internet Explorer 8 is generally faster than Internet Explorer 7 (it executes JavaScript more efficiently). All your settings, including Favorites, trusted websites, etc. will be kept automatically.

Thank You Leif and HansV
It would make since that my favorites would transfer over, but as you mentioned HansV
I will be cautious and read it over. It’s has taken me a while to acquire my most needed favorites list.
The only reason I’m even thinking of the upgrade is that I’m tired of getting that pop up recommending the upgrade, I figure it’s the best way to stop it......

I upgraded from IE7 to IE8. I had no problems with favourites and no regrets.
