VBE

Post by LisaGreen »

Hi everyone....

This is also posted at the code cage forums...
http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/showt ... p?t=214644

I'm inviting the world to say what they want of the VBE in terms of "tools".

What do want to be able to do?
What do you do a lot of?
What does the VBE do that you don't like so much?
Do you end up doing the same thing in different projects?
Do you have a set of code that you always import/copy to a project?
Is there something you do just once or twice but is a PITA!?

I'm going to stop there but I think you get the idea.

TIA
Lisa

I just typed out a long post answering each question and clicked Submit...and the post disappeared into thin air!
I'm not going to retype the whole lot again...barring to say that the VB Editor is a GREAT app. It does ALL that it needs to, but would be great if it had built in features like the add-ins (Smart Indenter and MZ Tools - specifically for the Code Templates - so you don't have to retype common code blocks each time).

My only peeve:
The Userform Toolbox should have a snap/dock attribute. I use a dual monitor and the toolbox always opens on the secondary monitor...very frustrating!!!

Otherwise - its wonderful and does ALL it needs to, and does it well!
Regards,
Rudi

The add in at http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/view. ... _downloads" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will save as many code snippets as you like. I'm working on an XML version at the moment. I believe that MZTools has a limit of nine.

I built the add in first as a cross reference but it just snowballed. A brief description of it is at... http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/view. ... vbacleanup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
