Minutes to hour conversion in query or report

Post by teachesms »

Ok. I have this query that is working out okay. However, I need a way to convert the answer it gives me from minutes to total hours. When I simply divide by 60 it gives me the number as a percentage of the hour in decimal form. I need the actual hours, for example if the total times of lab work ended up being 108 minutes, I want the field to show 1:48 for one hour and 48 minutes.

am attaching an example in a word doc for graphical reference

Thanks a bunch...(if it ain't one thing it's another) :)

Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!

Instead of dividing by 60, divide by 1440 (the number of minutes in a day) and format the result as h:mm
Best wishes,
Hans

You have to set the Format property of the text box to h:mm
That tells Access that you want the result to be formatted as a time value instead of a number.
Best wishes,
Hans
