Hi,
I have a form that contains hyperlinks to files on both my C drive and an external E drive. Why I double click the link for the file on the E drive it is fine. When I double click a link for a file on the C drive I get a warning re hyperlinks being potentially harmful............. Is there a way to stop this warning?
Thanks,
Leesha

Re: MS Hyperlink Warning message
Do you get this warning for ALL files on the C: drive or just for some files?
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi Hans,
I'm getting it on word docs and pdfs. I don't get it on a jpg file.

Hi
I tried the auto Fix It and the manual and neither stopped. It's not a show stopper, just a nag.
Thanks,
Leesha

Re: MS Hyperlink Warning message
Have you tried the "Method 2: Modify the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\<CLSID>\EditFlags registry subkey" section of the article?
For example, for .docx files, do the following:
- Start RegEdit.
- Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.docx
- Note the value of the (Default) entry. On my PC, it is Word.Document.12
- Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Word.Document.12 (using the value you noted in the previous step)
- If there is an entry named EditFlags in the right-hand pane, double-click it, and change its value to Hexadecimal 10000 (or Decimal 65536).
- If there is no entry named EditFlags, select Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value...
- Name the new entry EditFlags, and set its value to Hexadecimal 10000 (or Decimal 65536).
