I recall that in the past when I created reports in Access I could make a field autowitdth. So when one would display e.g. fist & last name, the output would look nice and not separated by a big gap as the report fields would have to be designed to hold the largest size first (and last) name.
In Access 2010 I don't seem to find this anymore... Anyone???

Re: Access - field auto witdth
That property has never existed. Text boxes have properties Can Shrink and Can Grow. If these are set to Yes, and the same properties of the report section as well, Access will adjust the height of the text box and section to fit the text.
There is third-party code that will decrease the font size of a text box if necessary to make the text fit - see Changing font size based on number of characters.
