How to locate non-true font in the file?

Post by New Daddy »

I'm trying to embed the fonts in the file.

When I save the file with the "font embed" option on, I get an error message at the end, saying that there are a couple of non-true type fonts in the file. It turns out that my colleague used some non-true type fonts.

The error message is such a nuisance that I want to remove all non-true type fonts. But I can't find where they are used! There is no "find formatting" function that you find in Word.

Is there a quick way to remove certain types of fonts altogether?

PowerPoint does have a Replace Fonts feature on the Home tab of the ribbon:

Argh... That was helpful and I was able to replace most of the non-true types.

But there is one asian "double-byte" font -- I think japanese -- that Powerpoints says cannot be replaced with a single-byte font. I tried every true-type font, but they all seem to be "single-byte" font.

Any idea?

Doesn't Arial Unicode MS work?

I don't have Arial Unicode MS under "Replace with".

I only have it under "Find".

I think that Arial Unicode MS comes with Microsoft Office, and I guess you must have Office installed if you are running this from PowerPoint. Can you check the office installation options as I think it may have been an optional install with some versions.
