xlsx to xls activex issue

Hi,
I have saved an xlsx workbook as an xls file but now the activex controls do not work, like as if design mode is stuck on. Is there an easy way to correct this?

Always develop in the oldest version that you want to support and/or in the oldest format that you want to support. Otherwise, you're bound to run into problems, as you have found.
