Vlookup based on the latest date in excel

I have a criteria to lookup a project ID status in sheet 2 based on the latest DATE, any formula i can use to perform this function.

Attached herewith is the workbook, where i need to find the project status based on the latest date in raw data sheet.

See the attached version. The formula had to take into account that there were 2 rows with the latest date for project 1.
