Excel 365 won't respond

Post by Sundog »

When I try to return focus to Excel after visiting some websites, my cursor changes to a "blocked" symbol, a circle with a diagonal line through it. I have unsaved changes (yes, I know!) on one spreadsheet, so I don't want to Task Manager > End Task. Any other options?

Could Excel be in cell edit mode?
Best wishes,

What happens if you activate Excel and press the Esc(ape) key?

I can't give focus to Excel, so no keys work.

I fear that your best hope is that the AutoRecover version of the workbook has the content that you need. Excel should automatically open this version when it restarts after you close it from Task Manager.

Hans
