Hello. Excel 2007.
I have a column of dates with times, which is a series of five minute intervals over a two day period.
I then have two further columns of data relating to these time intervals.
I would like to create a line graph and a surface graph using these series of data. But Excel will not allow
me to create the date/times as x-axis data points (with five minute intervals).
The dialog for axis options only gives options for day intervals.
Is there a way I can show the dates and times correctly along the x-axis?
Thanks, Andy.

Re: Charting date and time series
Unfortunately, Excel is severely lacking in this respect - it doesn't offer a true time scale axis.
But if you don't have gaps in the intervals, you can set the axis to be a text axis; the data points will then be displayed correctly.
Alternatively, use an XY Scatter chart; this will work even if there are gaps in the intervals, or if the intervals are irregular, but you won't be able to create a surface chart, obviously.
