I am trying to find a solution, which may be easy, but it eludes me. I would like to have something similar to the attached, but NOT display the "X". Instead just leave the white font on red background, when the value dictates.
Would want to leave the green check mark as is, as well as the "O". Is there a simple solution? Or any solution?
Thank you for your consideration.

Re: tweaking conditional formatting
Select the range with the icons.
On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Conditional Formatting > Manage Rules...
Select the relevant rule (if necessary), then click Edit...
Click the dropdown that displays the red "X", and select "No Cell icon" from the dropdown list.
Click OK, then OK again.
