TIP: Modify start pg# of multi-tab Excel printout
Something that I used in the distant past, but completely forgot about until a recent need for this tweak again.
Scenario:
You need to print out all pages across multiple tabs of an Excel spreadsheet.
Under normal circumstances if you select several tabs and add page numbers, Excel will label the pages 1 of 10, 2 of 10, 3 of 10, etc... (set at Auto)
BUT, I need to start the page numbering at 5 because I plan to append the pages to a word document that has a cover sheet and a table of contents and two extra pages. So in essence, I need Excel to number the pages 5 of 14, 6 of 14, 7 of 14, etc...
If I change the Auto setting to 5, then each tab printout starts at 5, eg: 5 of 10, 6 of 10, 5 of 10, 6 of 10, etc....
The solution is to keep Auto set to Auto and add the offset to the page field as the orange note illustrated below.
Note: If you are only using the &[Page] field, it is important to note that you must add a space behind the offset number.
( eg: This will not work: "&[Page]+3", but this will work: "&[Page]+3 " )
A great tweak that can be very handy to know if it is needed.
