Excel 2010: return Style(s) group to Home tab of ribbon

Post by John Gray »

I want to try conditional formatting for a cell, but can't find it where it apparently should be: in the Styles group in the Home tab.

I have no Styles group! (Just Clipboard, Font, Alignment, Number, Cells and Editing) I suspect I may have removed it when first I installed Office 2010.

I've tried "Customise the Ribbon" and tried to add Conditional Formatting, but it tries to put this into a new group, whereas I want it back where it was originally!

Any ideas, please?! I can't find anything about this from Googling. Thanks

Try adding the whole styles tab:
File - options
Customize ribbon
Choose: All tabs
Home
select Styles
[Add>>]

I see no way to remove just cond formatting (it is grayed out) but it looks like (I did not want to try it, however) removing the whole Styles tab...

In Customize Ribbon, make sure that the Home tab is selected in the list on the right hand side.
Select "Main Tabs" from the "Choose commands from" dropdown on the left hand side.
Expand Home.
Select Styles.
Click Add >>.
If necessary, move the Styles group in the right hand list up or down.

Thanks, chaps - it was a matter of choosing 'Main tabs' in the left-hand window!
