Hello
I am a little confused with an if statement producing odd results or certainly not what I was expecting. Please see the attached where I want the greater of the value in column G or H to be displayed in I. for instance in row 10 I would expect cell I10 to be showing 2.
Many thanks Darren.

Re: IF not working
Hi Darren
The values in the G column are not values, but text. If you convert them to values, the IF formula will work correctly.
To convert them, see the image...

Re: IF not working
The values in column G are text values - they have probably been imported or pasted from another application. Since text values are always greater than number values, you get unexpected/undesired results.
To change them to number values:
- Select an empty cell.
- Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
- Select G3:G11.
- Click the lower part of the Paste button and select Paste Special...
- Click Add, then OK.
