I hope someone can answer this question. Some of our users are on Word 2007 (urg).
Now, they have saved their documents as 'non' compatible with 97-2003. Is there any way to save these documents again from Word 2007 with 97-2003 compaibility but docx extension? I not too familiar with Word 2007 but when I save a document for the very first time in Word 2007 it give me this option:
Now, how can I resave the document that has originally been saved without compatibility to Word 97-2003 so that it is now compatible with Word 97-2003? I don't get the above option when I 'Save As' as the document in 2007.
EDIT: I thought I would have an option as part of my options|Save tab but nothing there either :-(
Thanks.
Robie

I tried this as a thought:
1. Open this doc under 2007 and save it as .doc (i.e. compatible with 97-2003)
2. Re-open the .doc file under 2007 and save it as .docx (with compatibility set - same as my first screenshot)
3. Open this doc (.docx) under 2003 but the compatibility is not set (although when opened in 2007 it says compaibility mode at the top)

Save the document as a Word 97-2003 document (.doc), then resave it as a Word 2007 document (.docx). (You don't have to close and reopen it in between). You'll get the option to turn compatibility mode on or off again, as in your first screenshot.
Best wishes,
Hans

Tried that but same result. If I then open the same docx in Word 2003, it still tells me that features will be disabled which were in Word 2007 :-(.

I'm sorry, I don't have a computer with Word 2003 or earlier any more, so I can't test it.
Best wishes,
Hans
