Complex script appearing

Post by agibsonsw »

Word 2003.

Hello.
When I click the bulleted icon a normal bullet appears. But when I view the styles list it is followed by an Arabic character.
Reveal formatting also indicates that Language is (Complex) Arabic Saudi, Arabia, even though my default language is English U.K.
(There is also a Complex Scripts tab under Tools/ Options).
What's going on? How can I remove/ reset this? Thanks, Andy.

Thank you. Still can't get rid of it and reluctant to change registry at the moment, although I notice that the Arabic Saudi language is not numbered in my registry anyway.

I'll just have to ignore it for a while. Ta anyway, Andy.

I turned off all numerical language values in the registry, LanguageSettings, other than English US and UK, and this has resolved the problem. Thank you.
(The other numbers didn't appear in the Microsoft list of Locale IDs, but I went ahead anyway.) Andy.
