Bitcoin symbol insertion

Post by Sundog »

I would like to be able to insert the Bitcoin symbol Unicode 20BF into Word docs. Instructions on using Alt+NumPad result in nothing. I don't want to have to invoke Character Map each time. Any suggestions welcome.

One approach is to invoke Character Map once, minimize it, then call it from the Taskbar when needed. Is there a better way?

Try ALT 8383 see https://altcodeunicode.com/bitcoin-sign-alt-code/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This works for me in MS Word 365

Alt+8383 (using the numeric keypad, with NumLock on) works for me. Its equivalent is typing 20BF in the document, then pressing Alt+X.

Unicode character Hex 0243 is not the Bitcoin symbol but a B with a stroke:

Thanks to DaveA and Hans for good help. I got nothing when I typed Alt+20BF, now know it should be 20BF FOLLOWED by Alt+x. I like Alt+8383 the best.

To make the result look most like the "official" Bitcoin symbol, use a serif font (Cambria, Times New Roman, etc.).
