Word2003: Collapse levels using keyboard - NO MOUSE!

Post by ChrisGreaves »

Curiosity value only:
Word2003. I can’t find a way to collapse/expand outlining using the keyboard.
The Word2003 basic help is full of “click on the toolbar”.
Perusal of the menu system didn’t indicate any commands (and hence no shortcut keys).
Dabbling with various combinations of Shift/Ctrl/Alt +/- did not seem to make any effect.

I am having a problem believing that it has been (for me) 25+ years with MS-Word and I still lack this basic skill.
I need to get out more.
Thanks
Chris

Can't test since I've not 2003 installed on any machines (and not sure if I understand the question).
But how about: Alt-Shift-+, or Alt-Shift--

(As you probably know you can also shift/move focus with F6.)

Thanks Argus.
A quick test (in View Outline mode helps!) didn't work.
Alt-Shift-Plus is a shifted Alt-equals
Alt-Shift-minus is an Alt-Underline

I might run through a detailed combination set when I get home.
I think it is significant that after all these years I've never felt the need for this particular trick, but the absence of keyboard abilities makes me think that Outline level collapsing is imported (third-party) code; that is, it is/was not code written by MSoft.

Cheers
Chris
