Is there a wildcard for endnote number?

Post by New Daddy »

Is there a wildcard for endnote number? Here is the situation where I need it:
  • I need to create a bibliography from a colleague's paper. (Usually it's easily done by a citation manager, but she didn't use a citation manager.)
  • She cited all her references in endnotes.
  • What I've decided to do is make a copy of the endnotes, get rid of the endnote numbers, sort the number-less endnotes in an alphabetical order, remove redundancies, and voila, you have a bibliography.
In order to pull this off, I need to be able to get rid of the endnote numbers.

Enter ^2 in the 'Find what' box to find an endnote number. You may want to enter a space after it, since an endnote begins with an endnote number and a space.
Best wishes,
Hans
