same heading style yet paragraph format differnt

Post by diana »

Word 2007 used same heading style and paragraph formatting however is differently

I have two documents using the same template and heading styles. Its been noticed that although the same heading styles have been used, the paragraphs formatting is different.

In doc 1 if I select one paragraph the spacing seems smaller. In doc 2 If I select the paragraph with the same heading style the spacing appears larger.

Under Format Paragraph the configurations are the same.

Any ideas

See screen captures. I can attached the documents if you like

TIA

It would be useful to see the documents (without sensitive information).
Best wishes,

Could it be a difference in the Before spacing of the next paragraph?

This is now resolved.

The cause was Word Compatibility. The Word 2007 template was created from scratch in Word 2007. The documents being converted and attached to the template were creating in an older version of Word.

To resolve
click Office button, click Word Options, click Advanced
Go to the area 'Compatibility options for'
In the drop downlist for 'Layout for this document as if created in', select Word 2007.
Click OK
