After decades of using Word, I'm still not sure how bulleted list works.
Without liking to styles, you can create multi-level, indented bulleted list with different bullets for each level. But how do you customize the indentation and bullet character? I can't find much on the internet search either. According to one article (http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/micros ... et-points/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), all you can do is just change the bullet character of the highest level in a multi-level list.
Is that all you can do as far as formatting a bulleted-list is concerned? It would be a waste of time and energy to use the outline numbered list and link styles just to modify indentation and bullet characters.
Is there any quick formatting of bulleted list?

I fear that a multi-level list is the way to go.

You can customise to the nth degree with this dialog.
Dialog: Define a new Multilevel list in the Multilevel drop down button.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Sigh.. Yes, Multilevel (or Outline numbered) list is very powerful and less error-prone, but it would have been quicker if Word provided a way to change the indentation and bullet characters of an existing list. Building a new Multilevel list would be very cumbersome.Rudi wrote:You can customise to the nth degree with this dialog.

I also noticed that the title of the dialogue box is "Multilevel list", whereas the title of the tab in the Bullets and Numbering is "Outline Numbered". Another source of confusion.

Alas, the interface for creating and modifying mult-level lists is not very intuitive, but we'll have to work with it...
