I inherited a Word document and when I highlight a word, the highlight not only highlights the word but about 1.5 inches below the word. If I select another word on a different row, the highlight is around to word as I would expect.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Font Setting?
Could you attach a small sample document that demonstrates the problem?
Best wishes,

Re: Font Setting?
Are the words in the last line of the paragraph?
If so, it sounds like paragraph spacing.
Select the line (or paragraph) and press CTRL+Q to see if it resolves.

Re: Font Setting?
Hans/Rudi,
I have determined that it is related to "Line and Paragraph Spacing". The navigation is Home Tab>Paragraph Section>Line & Paragraph Spacing. One can set line spacing within a paragraph. Once I removed/reset it, the results were what I would expect.
Thanks for taking a look.
