Recovering work lost in unsaved file

Post by jmt356 »

I just lost changes made in a Word document. I think I accidentally closed it down without saving the changes. Is there a way to recover the changes? I already tried to enable viewing invisible files and looking for temp files, but I cannot find any invisible files in my C drive and thus doubt when enabling viewing them actually worked ...
Regards,

JMT

In Word, select File > Options.
Select Save in the navigation pane on the left hand side.

If "Save AutoRecover information every .., minutes" is ticked, a copy of an open document will be saved in the folder specified in "AutoRecover file location".
If "Keep the last autosaved version of I close without saving" is also ticked, you may be able to find the document in the "Autorecover file location".

You can also try "Recover unsaved documents" at the bottom of File > Recent.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hans, I've owed you in the past, but this time, I really owe you. Thank you - you helped me recover more than 2 hours of time that would have been otherwise lost.
