Create Excel file from Word

Post by Robie »

Hi

Is it possible to save a file created using Word to be saved as an Excel spreadsheet? Perhaps, I need to call an Excel macro from Word VBA to create/update/save the spreadsheet.
For example, SaveAs2 command doesn't allow it to be saved as Excel spreadsheet.

Thanks.

No, it is not possible to save a Word document as an Excel workbook. You can, however, copy text from a Word document and paste it into an Excel worksheet.
Best wishes,
Hans

You can also use Word to automate an Excel session that creates a workbook, then transfer data from document to the workbook.
